Diego Alberto Sanchez-Maitret is a surrealist artist from Puebla, Mexico.

 

His love for nature is reflected in pieces born from a world he calls Diexico, a place he escapes to create and dream. 

 

Diego’s pieces are a reminder that everything on our planet comes from the same conscience. 

​

Combining flora and fauna with human elements he explores a fantasy realm that exists beyond our eyes.

 

Diego graduated from Boston University in 2005 with a BA in Advertising, a minor in Graphic Design and a concentration in Art History. 

​

An artist since birth, Diego is mostly self-taught, exploring as many mediums as he can.

​

Throughout childhood he was mentored by his grandmother Maria Luisa, who taught him to paint with oils and water color. 

​​

Currently focusing on ceramic sculpture, Diego has apprenticed at several studios throughout Oaxaca and Puebla. 

​​

Here at Diexico, you will meet several beings who reside there with big eyes and curious faces.
